\nAll sinks to be Kashered must first be thoroughly
\ncleaned like new, paying special attention to
\ncrevices and cracks. Additionally, the taps as well as
\nthe faucets must also be thoroughly cleaned.
\nDeuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape
\nAfter the cleaning, they must not be used for a
\nminimum of 24 hours with hot water. Prior to
\nKashering, in order to ensure that no hot water is used, it is a good idea to turn off the hot water
\nvalve under the sink. Pour a very strong drain
\ncleaner down and around the drain\/s. The method
\nof kashering the sink is with Erui. The entire sink
\nsurface must be dry prior to the pouring of the
\nboiling water, so as not to cool down the water.
\nTherefore it is recommended to Kasher the base
\nof the sink first and then to Kasher the sides. Take
\na special Passover Kashering kettle and fill it up
\nwith water. Bring the kettle to a boil. Immediately
\nafter the water boils, it should be poured over the
\nsurface to be kashered. Pour boiling water over
\nevery part of the sink, concentrating on small areas
\nat a time, ensuring that as you pour the water, it
\nremains boiling hot. Some have the custom of
\npouring the boiling water onto a hot stone, and
\nmoving the stone around, while pouring the water.
\nAfter the sink\/s are Kashered, pour cold water
\nover them. Boiling hot water must also be poured
\nover the faucet\/s as well as the hot and cold
\nwater knobs. If the spout has a strainer, it must be
\nchanged for Passover. (Sink stoppers should also
\nbe changed). After Kashering, some people have
